Christina Norberg

Counsellor & Art Therapist
In Surrey, BC

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes - Carl Jung

Christina Norberg is trained as a clinical counsellor, art therapist, and has been a professional visual artist for almost 20 years. As a therapist, she is down to earth, warm, open-minded, and curious. From ages 10+ through to the elder years, Christina works collaboratively with clients, at the right pace, using the right modality that works best for your unique needs and way of being.

Sessions can involve talk therapy, art therapy, or a combination of the two, depending on what feels right for you. One of the unique aspects of art therapy is that it is largely non-verbal and an incredible amount of healing can occur on a deep level without having to use words. No artistic experience is necessary.

Christina also works with families and couples using The Gottman method. This couple’s therapy approach begins with an online assessment that you each do individually. This assessment highlights the specific areas of challenge in your relationship so that we can focus on them right away, making therapy much more efficient and successful.

The Gottman method teaches how to move from conflict to dialogue. It teaches how to truly listen and validate your partners needs and feelings. It shows you how to process past wounds and conflicts. It focuses on increasing friendship in your relationship, based on your shared dreams and values.

The Gottman method also supports individual therapy with Christina as needed during the therapy process.

More than just work: Christina is a parent to a young adult and an adolescent in high school. Besides enjoying time with her children, she loves to dance, ride her bicycle, and make art.
