Dr. Christian Filice provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families from a relational, attachment-focused, and integrative perspective. He is passionate about helping clients better understand their emotions, make sense of past experiences, and find greater freedom in their relationships with themselves and others. He offers a warm, authentic, and non-judgmental space where clients can bring all parts of themselves, including the ones that feel painful, messy, confusing, or difficult to share, and approach them with curiosity and compassion.
Christian works collaboratively with clients to explore how past experiences continue to shape the way they feel, respond, and connect with others. He helps clients understand where difficult patterns came from, what they may have been protecting, and how to relate to these parts of themselves with greater compassion while finding new ways forward. When working with children and families, Christian looks beyond behaviour to consider what a child may be communicating or experiencing underneath it. He helps parents attune to their child’s emotional and developmental needs, recognize patterns within the parent-child relationship, and find ways of responding that strengthen connection while providing the structure and guidance children need. His work with children is adapted to their developmental level and may incorporate play, creativity, emotional expression, and direct skill-building.
Christian draws from emotion-focused, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, acceptance and commitment, and dialectical behaviour therapies, with treatment tailored to each client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals. As a Provisional Psychologist, Dr. Christian Filice practises under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist.
