“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” - Carl Jung

Welcome, I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for support is often challenging, and I want to honor the courage it takes to start this process. My name is Cris, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. In my practice, I work with both adults and youth.

When you work with me, counselling becomes a place of understanding, empathy, and meaningful change. I strive to create a welcoming environment where every part of you, including your struggles, hopes, fears, and longings, is acknowledged without judgment. Together, we can make sense of what you have experienced, ensuring that your past does not define you. My hope is that the insights you gain in therapy provide you the opportunity to consciously choose new, more adaptive ways of being. By identifying patterns that may no longer serve you and recognizing the strengths you already possess, you can learn to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence, and authenticity.

In my work with adults, I encounter a wide range of overlapping concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, dysregulated emotions, histories of abuse, and feelings of hopelessness. Many individuals also find themselves struggling to stay organized, remain focused, or follow through on key commitments, often leading to self-doubt or a sense of being stuck. Although these challenges can feel deeply unsettling, therapy offers the opportunity to gain perspective, identify patterns that may be keeping you from moving forward, and experiment with new coping strategies. Through this process, we aim to foster greater emotional steadiness, purposeful action, and a life that genuinely reflects who you are and what matters most to you.

In addition to my work with adults, I also support youth facing unique pressures, including (but not limited to) difficulties in school, family issues, peer relationships, or performance in competitive environments such as sports. I understand that challenges such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, substance use, difficulties with organization and follow through, and struggles with self-worth can feel overwhelming. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, practical tools, and genuine compassion, I tailor our work to meet your individual needs. My commitment is to help you or your teen find strategies that are both effective and actionable.

Finally, because I take a collaborative approach to therapy, I consider your feedback vital to our progress. I welcome ongoing conversations about what feels helpful and what might need a different approach. By working together to adjust and refine the direction of therapy, we ensure that your time, energy, and resources, as well as your preferences, comfort, and safety are all prioritized in our work together.
